Adventure Riding for a Cause

For years, Motorcycle Sherpa has been guiding riders on adventure tours in some of the wildest and remote parts of the world. But adventure is only part of what drives us. We also believe that every mile should mean something.

Adventure riding isn’t just about conquering mountains or crossing borders — it’s about building community, giving back, and honoring those who’ve paved the way before us. That’s why in June 2026 we are partnering with the FDR Foundation on our Wild Steppes tour in Mongolia to raise awareness for the important work they do supporting riders and families affected by motorcycle accidents.

History of the FDR Foundation

The FDR Foundation is a heartfelt initiative born of personal loss and community solidarity. The foundation was established by Frank R. Rosales Sr. after his son, Frank Dean “FDR” Rosales, tragically died in a motorcycle accident at the age of 25. In remembrance of his son and in honor of the wider motorcycling community impacted by accidents, the foundation provides compassionate support, resources, and advocacy to families and individuals who have suffered catastrophic motorcycle accidents.

Focused on what they call “Healing from Within,” the FDR Foundation addresses the profound emotional, physical, and financial difficulties that arise after motorcycle accidents — especially for survivors and those grieving losses. Their mission emphasizes that every donation makes a difference, and the organization encourages sponsorship, events, and community involvement to encourage healing, resilience, and remembrance.

Based in Upland, California, the foundation invites donors and partners to join in honoring FDR’s legacy by supporting injured motorcyclists and their families.

Mongolia’s wild steppes

Starting from Mongolia’s capital of Ulaanbaatar, Motorcycle Sherpa’s Wild Steppes tour delivers a mix of remote terrain, nomadic culture, and epic scenery over 10 adventure-packed days. After arrival and a welcome evening in the city, you’ll begin riding through the surreal sand dunes of Elsen Tasarkhai on the edge of rolling green steppes.

From there, the route leads to the UNESCO-listed Orkhon Valley and into truly off-road terrain as you head west into the heart of Mongolia’s wilderness. You’ll ride across the Khangai Mountains, visit the serene Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur (“White Lake”) near the dormant Khorgo Volcano, and north into the forests around Khuvsgul Lake, Mongolia’s largest fresh-water lake.

Accommodations are in traditional ger (yurt) camps in some of the most remote locations imaginable, immersing you in nomadic hospitality and sweeping, wild landscapes.
With rides averaging several hours each day, intermediate riding skills are required — this isn’t just a scenic ride, it’s an adventure through some of the most untamed regions on the planet. The Wild Steppes tour is also approved for pillion riders, making it a great adventure for couples.

Motorcycle Sherpa and FDR Foundation: Riding for a cause

If you’ve ever dreamed of exploring one of the most untouched and awe-inspiring places on earth while making a real difference, this is your chance. The 2026 Wild Steppes tour with Motorcycle Sherpa and the FDR Foundation isn’t just another adventure — it’s a journey with purpose. Every twist of the throttle will carry meaning, and every mile will help raise awareness and support for riders and families facing unimaginable challenges. Together, we’ll ride in the spirit of resilience, remembrance, and community — the same values that drive both Motorcycle Sherpa and the FDR Foundation.

As you traverse Mongolia’s endless horizons, you’ll not only experience the freedom of the open steppe but also the power of connection that defines the global motorcycle family. Join us for an adventure that goes beyond the ride — where purpose meets passion, and every road leads to hope.
