Itinerary
DAY 01 | ULAANBAATAR
Welcome to Mongolia.
You’ll be met at the airport and transferred to a centrally located hotel. In the evening, we gather for dinner with the crew—final briefings, first laughs, and the growing realization that this ride is going to be very different from anything you’ve done before.
Overnight in a hotel.
DAY 02 | ULAANBAATAR → ELSEN TASARKHAI
280 km | 6–7 hrs
A short bus ride gets us out of the city and to our motorcycles. We’re ready to roll and we dive straight into adventure with a stretch near the Mongol Els sand dunes.
Dinner and overnight in a traditional ger camp.
DAY 03 | ELSEN TASARKHAI → ORKHON WATERFALL
170 km | 7–8 hrs
Ride through wide valleys and sand hills, refueling at Bayandalai before lunch in the open countryside.
The Orkhon region delivers big skies, big distances, and the growing sense that civilization is getting further and further away.
Dinner and overnight in a ger camp.
DAY 04 | ORKHON WATERFALL → TAYHAR
170 km | 6–7 hrs
Mountain and forest tracks lead us west toward natural hot springs—yes, bring a swimsuit. After soaking, we continue to Tayhar village along the Tamir River.
Here, we experience daily nomadic life and local cuisine that is simple, hearty, and well-earned.
Dinner and overnight in a traditional ger camp.
DAY 05 | TAYHAR → WHITE LAKE (TERKHIIN TSAGAAN)
155 km | Full day
Shorter in distance, longer in soul.
Pass the dormant Khorgo volcano and arrive at White Lake—formed by ancient lava flows and surrounded by dramatic scenery. The riding is slow, technical, and deeply satisfying.
Dinner and overnight in a ger camp.
DAY 06 | WHITE LAKE → ZURKH LAKE
300 km | ~8 hrs
We head north into forested terrain toward Zurkh Lake in the Khuvsgul province. Remote, beautiful, and not particularly interested in being found.
This is one of those days where getting off the bike feels like an accomplishment worth celebrating.
Dinner and overnight in a ger camp.
DAY 07 | ZURKH LAKE → KHUVSGUL LAKE
250 km | ~8 hrs
The legendary Khuvsgul Lake stretches 136 km near the Russian border, framed by mountain ranges and rich wildlife habitats. This region is home to the Dukha reindeer herders and over 60 mammal species.
Dinner and overnight in a ger camp near the lake.
DAY 08 | KHUVSGUL LAKE → KHORIDOL SARIDAG MOUNTAINS
240 km | 5–6 hrs
Today is nothing but highlights.
We ride fully off-road into the mountains, seeking out nomadic families and riding through landscapes so vast they recalibrate your sense of scale. No traffic. No fences. Nothing man-made as far as the eye can see. Just riding.
Dinner and overnight in a ger camp.
DAY 09 | KHUVSGUL REGION → MURUN → ULAANBAATAR
100 km riding | Flight to capital
A final blast of countryside riding takes us to Murun City. After lunch and final photos, we fly back to Ulaanbaatar.
Dinner and overnight at a hotel.
