New Highest Road Tour

Taking The High(est) Road

If you love mountains and motorcycles, then Motorcycle Sherpa’s newly revamped Highest Roads tour is for you! If you’ve ever dreamed of riding your motorcycle to the top of the world, our 10-day adventure through the Indian Himalayas will take you across some of the most breathtaking and challenging terrain on earth, climbing to elevations over 19,400 feet!

Mig La pass - adventure awaits

In our ongoing commitment to conquering the highest motorable passes in the world, our team has updated our Highest Roads itinerary to include the new Mig La pass, which has been completed as of October 2025.

Situated in the eastern part of Ladakh near the village of Hanle, the Mig La pass was constructed by India’s Border Roads Organisation as a way to connect remote settlements.

At 19,400 feet above sea level, the new Mig La pass surpasses the previous record for the highest motorable road in the world that was held by the Uming La pass in the same region. At 19,024 ft, the Uming La pass represents one of the most remarkable feats of high-altitude engineering in the world.

Adventure motorcyclists regard Umling La as the ultimate test of endurance, skill, and spirit, an achievement that quite literally places riders on top of the world. And now, with the Mig La pass opening to adventure tourists, that achievement is being taken to new heights.

Offering breathtaking views of the Changthang Plateau, riders on the Highest Roads tour will witness expansive valleys and snow-capped Himalayan peaks as they conquer the highest motorable road in the world.

New Delhi to New Heights

Starting in bustling New Delhi, the Highest Roads adventure winds through the lush valleys of Himachal Pradesh, past remote mountain villages, and into the stark, high-altitude deserts of Ladakh. Along the way, riders conquer legendary passes like Kunzum La, Baralacha La, Taglang La, and the famed Khardung La, once considered the highest motorable road in the world.

Starting in 2026, riders will also conquer the new record-holding mountain pass of Mig La, adding an even greater challenge and sense of triumph to your adventure through the Indian Himalayas. Each day of the tour offers a new test of endurance and skill, with terrain that shifts from winding tarmac to rugged dirt tracks and cliffside switchbacks.

But this isn’t just about the ride; it’s about the experience. Between the mountain climbs and river crossings, riders visit centuries-old monasteries, explore remote Himalayan towns, and camp under crystal-clear skies beside alpine lakes like Tso Kar and Pangong Tso. Motorcycle Sherpa’s expertly planned route and expert guides make sure every moment balances challenge with comfort, allowing riders to fully embrace the thrill of the Himalayas.

Not for the faint of heart, the Highest Roads tour will challenge your endurance, riding skill, and spirit of adventure as you navigate some of the most rugged and breathtaking terrain on earth.
