Mig La pass - adventure awaits
In our ongoing commitment to conquering the highest motorable passes in the world, our team has updated our Highest Roads itinerary to include the new Mig La pass, which has been completed as of October 2025.
Situated in the eastern part of Ladakh near the village of Hanle, the Mig La pass was constructed by India’s Border Roads Organisation as a way to connect remote settlements.
At 19,400 feet above sea level, the new Mig La pass surpasses the previous record for the highest motorable road in the world that was held by the Uming La pass in the same region. At 19,024 ft, the Uming La pass represents one of the most remarkable feats of high-altitude engineering in the world.
Adventure motorcyclists regard Umling La as the ultimate test of endurance, skill, and spirit, an achievement that quite literally places riders on top of the world. And now, with the Mig La pass opening to adventure tourists, that achievement is being taken to new heights.

Along the way, riders conquer legendary passes like Kunzum La, Baralacha La, Taglang La, and the famed Khardung La, once considered the highest motorable road in the world.
Starting in 2026, riders will also conquer the new record-holding mountain pass of Mig La, adding an even greater challenge and sense of triumph to your adventure through the Indian Himalayas. Each day of the tour offers a new test of endurance and skill, with terrain that shifts from winding tarmac to rugged dirt tracks and cliffside switchbacks.
